Vaccinations and Advice Before Your Trip

If you’re planning a trip, it’s important to be properly vaccinated. At Åkirkeby Lægehus, we offer professional travel advice and vaccinations to both our patients and non-patients—as well as businesses. We assess your needs based on your destination, travel dates, and any chronic conditions you may have.

Counseling and Programs

During a travel consultation, we conduct a thorough assessment of which vaccines and, if necessary, preventive medications you should receive. We take into account local disease outbreaks and your personal circumstances.

Appointment Scheduling

Please contact the medical center well in advance—preferably no later than one month before your departure—so we can plan your vaccination schedule. We administer vaccinations daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offer flexible appointment times as needed.

How much does it cost?

Travel counseling and vaccinations are not covered by the national health insurance system, which means that you must pay out of pocket for these services. Members of Sygesikringen Danmark are reimbursed upon submission of a claim.

If the vaccinations themselves are administered at Åkirkeby Medical Center, the counseling is free, but consultation fees will be charged per visit at the location where the vaccination is administered.

You pay an initial fee for the travel consultation and assessment. If you need a vaccination and would like to receive it here at the medical center, there will be a vaccination fee in addition to the cost of the vaccine itself.

Travel Advice

Initial planning for vaccinations, medications, and risks associated with chronic diseases in relation to travel destinations. .

First Vaccination Consultation

Initial consultation, including counseling and the vaccination itself.The cost of the vaccine is paid separately.

Vaccine prescriptions elsewhere

Since we are responsible for all prescriptions we issue, there will be a fee if we are asked to issue a prescription for a vaccine that is administered elsewhere in the healthcare system.

Since we are responsible for all prescriptions we issue, a fee will apply if we are to issue a prescription for travel advice and any vaccinations that have been administered elsewhere in the healthcare system.

Workplace Vaccination

Volume discounts are available for companies with multiple employees who need to be vaccinated. Please contact the medical center if you are interested.

Special Certificates

If you are traveling outside the Schengen Area and need to bring medication with you, you may need a medical certificate. You are responsible for the cost of this certificate.

If you are pregnant or need other special medical certificates for travel, please contact the medical center to inquire about the cost.
